The three-digit CVV is protected by a foil strip that scratches away easily. If you’ve rubbed it into oblivion—or worse, you were sold a card with fewer than 16 digits—don’t toss the plastic. Follow these steps to get a free replacement or manual override.
Fast Checklist
- Keep the receipt. It proves activation and shows the last four digits.
- Photograph front & back—even if damaged. Clear images speed replacement.
- Freeze the card via IVR (option 2) so no one else can guess the CVV.
- Open a replacement case by calling 1-800-544-2943 → option 4. Provide the last four digits, load amount, and purchase date.
- Email photos & receipt to the address they provide (auto-reply will issue a case ID).
Timeline
- Digital e-card: under 24 hours.
- Physical replacement: USPS First Class, 5–7 business days.
Emergency In-Store Work-Around
